"Learning the Language" - An Illustration

In this clip an ARAB learns the LANGUAGE of the VIKINGS! This illustrates ACQUISITION by IMMERSION; how knowledge may be ACQUIRED through patient continuance.. and simply paying attention.

I Don’t Get It! I Don’t Understand What You’re Saying!

You may not now, but you can and you will! If you will only STAY PUT and continue PAYING ATTENTION, you’ll soon find yourself “Learning the Language!”

Take two minutes and watch the illustration, where an ARAB learns the LANGUAGE of the VIKINGS.* This occurs over the PASSAGE of TIME.

We often use this clip to respond to statements like: “I don’t get it!” and “I can’t understand what you’re saying!” Over time, the learning process CAN work wonders for those who persist with the material.

* Okay, they are not technically speaking “Vikings.” Beowulf is a Geat, while Hrothgar is a Scylding. But for our purpose here, “Viking” is close enough.

[The epic poem “Beowulf”, of which 13th Warrior is a modern adaptation, is the oldest work in the English language.]
